Norka Martinez Luque was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Unlike other children who discover their abilities at a later stage in life, Luque discovered hers when she was eight years old. With the support of her parents, she was able to attend singing, instrument and dance classes. During her childhood, she took part in numerous junior competitions including the “Golden Voice” and “School Festival of Gaitas.”
Even though Norka Luque spent most of her childhood practicing and mastering art related activities, she did not sideline her academic education. Soon after she graduated from high school, she moved abroad for further studies. She settled in France and enrolled in a business school.
After four years at the school, she finally graduated with a degree in international business. Martinez moved to the small city-state of Monaco where she found a job as a banker. Even though this job paid well, she did not find it enjoyable.
She set out to look for another career. Luque knew that music was the only career that suited her. She joined the band Bad Moon Rising. With this band, she was able to take her newly found career to the next level. She found an avenue through which she could interact with people with whom she shared similar interests. This band also enabled her to meet professionals in the music industry.
Norka Luque will forever remember the year 2008; it was during this year that she met the businessman and music producer Emilio Estefan. Mr. Estefan is the man behind her successful career. He signed her to his record label and channeled her towards musical success.
In 2011, he helped Luque compile her first professional album. This album was a success; it made Martinez famous. Songs like “As You Do It,””Milagro” and “Tomorrowland” became worldwide hits. These songs dominated both the airwaves and musical charts in the United States, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
Ms. Martinez is gearing to end the year in style; she recently collaborated with another successful musician known as Angel y Khriz to produce yet another successful song dubbed “Ese Es Mi Carino.” Norka has relied on the help of several professionals to reach where she is today. She is grateful for the support that Emilio Estefan accorded her. Additionally, she says she couldn’t have made it without the help of her parents. Other professionals who have also aided in the success of this Venezuelan singer are Luigi Giraldo, Archie Pena, and Hermanos Gaitán.
